Operations Manager – Aggregates (M/F) – Berducido, Galicia
SECIL is a leading industrial Group with operations focused on the production and commercialization of cement, ready-mix concrete, aggregates, mortars, precast concrete products and hydraulic lime.
We are currently looking for an Operations Manager (Aggregates) to join our Berducido Quarry (Galicia, Spain), assuming the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the execution of the Quarry Plan, meeting the defined production, quality and cost targets;
Coordinate and optimize quarry operations, including drilling, blasting, extraction, hauling and aggregates processing, ensuring high levels of operational efficiency;
Plan and manage the human resources, equipment and operational assets assigned to the quarry, maximizing availability, productivity and operational reliability;
Monitor operational performance through the analysis of production, cost, consumption and efficiency indicators, implementing the necessary actions to achieve the established objectives;
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to process optimization, cost reduction and overall operational performance;
Participate in investment projects, equipment modernization and the implementation of new technologies, supporting the continuous development and competitiveness of the operation;
Promote the use of digital management and monitoring tools, enabling more efficient and data-driven decision-making;
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental and Licensing requirements applicable to quarry operations, promoting a strong safety culture as a core organizational value.
Profile
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, or a related field;
Minimum of 5 years' experience in supervisory or operational management roles within quarries or mining operations, including team leadership, equipment management, and oversight of drilling, blasting, extraction and aggregates processing activities;
Experience in the management and maintenance of heavy quarry mobile equipment, together with practical knowledge of explosives handling and blasting operations;
Experience in analysing operational KPIs and implementing performance improvement initiatives;
Proficiency in IT tools for operational management and data analysis;
Good command of English (mandatory);
Training in explosives, an Explosives Operator Licence, qualifications to act as Technical Quarry Manager ("Dirección Facultativa"), and/or a Blaster's Licence ("Carta de Artillero") will be considered an advantage;
Availability to work in Galicia, Spain.
